Cash on Delivery, with the reconciliation that has to follow it

Taking cash at the door is easy. Knowing which orders were actually collected, which came back, and whether the courier has paid you is the part that goes wrong.

What it does

What happens after the rider knocks

Collected, marked at the door

The rider or courier marks the cash collected against that order — not against a day's total that nobody can unpick later.

Remittance matched to orders

When the courier pays you, the amount is matched against the orders it covers. A shortfall is visible instead of being absorbed.

Failed deliveries closed properly

An undelivered order is cancelled, its stock returned and its tax reversed — not left standing in the period as revenue you never received.

COD limits where you need them

Cap the order value, restrict COD by area, or require prepayment above a threshold.

Why it is different here

The VAT trap in COD

The tax point is the supply, not the moment the cash reaches you. So the invoice is issued when the order is placed — which means an order that is never collected has to be cancelled properly, or its tax stays in your return as output tax on money you never received.

That is the single most common way a COD-heavy store overstates its VAT. How VAT handles cancellations →

  • On every plan, including Starter
  • Works with your own riders and with a courier at the same time
  • COD orders reported separately, so you can see the true collection rate
Common questions

What people ask about this

Can I turn COD off for some areas?
Yes — by emirate, by area, or above a certain order value. Plenty of merchants allow it in their own emirate and require prepayment elsewhere.
Does the customer pay a COD fee?
That is your call. You can add a handling fee to COD orders, or absorb it.
