Why a UAE merchant cannot avoid the percentage
Shopify Payments is not available in the UAE. That is a fact of the market rather than a criticism — but it means a UAE merchant must use a third-party gateway, and that is exactly the case where Shopify applies an additional transaction fee on top of what the gateway already charges.
Published rates at the time of writing are 2% on Basic, 1% on the mid plan and 0.6% on Advanced. A merchant in a country where Shopify Payments is available can opt out of that by using it. Here you cannot.
